Holy SMACKS! Here I am not yet published and this unknown Montana girl is being interviewed on Lydia’s Literary Lowdown, at 3p.m. Mountain time, today, on WGGM Blog Talk Radio. The wonderful Radio Host, Lydia Aswolf, asked me to be a guest on her show regarding my memoir EARLY OUT. Today, my insides are a mixture of GLEE and Peptic Acid. Make that heavy on the acid. My doubt comes in waves…I’m not even published yet, why would she want me? What if she asks…(insert multiple scary things people could ask you here). Then GLEE thoughts take over. I can’t believe I’m being interviewed for my writing and my family’s story! This is wonderful! I’m so blessed to have met Lydia. She picked me out of a number of already published authors. (Mind Switch) Oh, GAWD, I didn’t realize… here I am…Leisa…I need to really put myself out there, be vulnerable. I need to talk openly about my boys and myself, just like the writing I am currently penning in my novel. WHOA WAIT! This is naked talk, for the whole world to hear! INSTANTLY, not read when I am damn good and ready for the masses to read it, or when the book is actually published! Then Lydia sends out a mass TWEET inviting people to listen to my interview, it reads: Controversy? Probably. But we’ll cross that bridge when we come to it. Then burn it, Leisa Greene and me. Saturday June 15th, on Lydia’s Literary Lowdown, 3 p.m. Mountain.
Lydia tells me she is looking forward to talking about EARLY OUT and says, “It’s a gripping, compelling memoir, I’ll be glad to see more of.” We discuss change and our hopes for positive change and Lydia states, “I would very much like to see that change take over the world. High time for it.”
It gives me cause to pause and think, can we ever stop this cycle of discrimination?
Well then Leisa…okay, let’s get to it. You have something to say, say it. If you can get naked in your book girl, then you can get naked on Blog Talk Radio. Let’s talk about change. Let’s work toward change for the better. It starts with me. I will talk about my boys, discrimination, church, gay marriage, and my inward changes ugly as some of them were, or as lovely.
If you miss the live podcast you can listen to it anytime you desire, it’s on the NET for all to hear.
