2013 saw quite a few amazing sites in the film industry, but nothing compared to the surge in independent film. Several indie films made it to the big screen with extremely large profits and all star casts. 12 Years A Slave, for example, made almost $40 million alone. Netflix is playing a large roll in the distribution of independent films and will reportedly be investing $6 billion on TV and Film content over the next three years, including original content.
